Building Air Tightness Testing

Flatt Consulting provide building air tightness testing, design advice and consultation. This includes drawings reviews and on-site pre-test inspections in accordance with Building Regulations, Part L1A and L2A. We undertake a personal, reliable and cost effective service anywhere in the South of England. Our experienced engineers will advise on the testing process to avoid common pitfalls and inform you of prompt methods for improvement for areas of non-conformity.

Air tightness testing is the procedure to measure any uncontrolled airflow through a house or building. Too much air leakage leads to unwanted heat losses, higher CO2 emissions and excessive fuel bills. We also undertake 'smoke log' test to see where the leakage in the building occurs.

A Professional Service

Flatt Consulting air tightness testing personnel are fully accredited BINDT qualified engineers, with equipment fully UKAS calibrated. Works are carried out to ATTMA ‘TS1’ standards. Flatt Consulting are authorised to issue certificates of compliance by Building Control as evidence that the test meets the required Building Regulations standard.

Our aim is to help you achieve the design air permeability standards set out within your SAP and SBEM calculations for Building Regulations compliance. We can also provide completion Energy Performance Certificates.
