Building Testing Engineer |
Role
To operate and run a high quality and profitable operating division within Flatt Consulting, providing the services of Building Pressure Testing to comply with the Building Regulation Part L. It is the intention that this division will develop further to provide other forms of building testing. Carry out detailed testing and calculations in accordance with industry guides. Assist and prepare methods of standardisation to systemise the production of testing and completion reports, and develop the division in order to employ further building pressure testing engineers.
Principle Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a new building pressure testing division, with development of new Clients
- Formulate a business plan, with key financial deliverables
- Formulate and implement a Marketing plan to develop the business
- Utilise and develop further all standard systems and forms to carry out a new commission from fee proposal to certified completion, including site procedures
- Carry out Building Pressure testing on site, to satisfactorily complete a pressure test to a certified pass or advise reasons for failure, with advice on rectification
- Maintain good client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business
- Assist with identifying and implementing your personal training/CPD requirements. Help develop working practices in the Company
- Implement and manage QA systems and procedures on all projects
- Implement Company Health and Safety Policy standards in relation to all site activities
- Develop other services, i.e. Thermal/infra red camera services and other testing and commissioning validation services, as brochure services detailed
Other Responsibilities
- To control the certification/ UKAS calibration of all measuring devices
- To control the technical Library
- Control equipment yearly certification
- Ensure BINDT membership maintained and renewed
Experience & Qualifications
- Membership of a professional engineering body BINDT qualified air tightness tester, to ATTMA TS1
- Minimum 3 years experience
- Communication/presentation skills
- Knowledge of statutory legislation and standards
